As spring arrives, our team turns its attention to one of the most visible parts of our community: landscaping. Beautiful grounds do not happen by chance. They come from thoughtful planning, seasonal preparation, and steady attention to detail.
After winter, I take a proactive approach to refreshing our outdoor spaces. My goal is to keep them visually appealing, safe, and enjoyable for residents. As the Plant Operations Director at Cedar Trails Senior Living, I focus on the steps that help our community look its best each spring.
For the spring refresh, my team evaluates areas that need attention by walking the property with our vendor, Focal Pointe. We complete these walkthroughs every two weeks. This helps us catch concerns early and address them promptly.
A recent seasonal project involved removing dead flowers and planting new ones. Residents enjoy the refreshed look of the flower beds. They also appreciate the fragrance the new flowers bring to the community.

One common issue during spring startup is downed tree branches from high winds. We manage this by monitoring the property closely. After storms or windy weather, our team completes cleanup as needed.
The processes currently in place work well for Cedar Trails. We will continue using regular walkthroughs and vendor communication to maintain the property throughout the season.
It is easy to see the finished product, but real success comes from teamwork. Coordination, accountability, and pride help bring each project together. These efforts ensure Cedar Trails Senior Living continues to meet the standards residents expect while setting the tone for the months ahead.
